Gwen Lewis, a successful news editor for Chicago’s Globe newspaper. Tall, physically attractive with a self assured presence, she was an intimidating force for women and men alike. A straight shooting, no nonsense persona, Gwen is a woman who speaks her mind with little regard to how her words are received by others. She is of the mindset that it is better to hurt others, before they hurt her. It is clear she has a shield up to keep people at arms length. The question was why?
Anthony Angeletti, a retired news man from New York. Tony is at first blush the stereotypical image of a New Yorker. Direct, gruff and in-your-face. Yet under this icy façade is a man that is a softy at heart. It is this very contradiction in personality traits that led him to Maine. Led him to buy and run his own bed and breakfast retreat in a small off the beaten path town beside the lake. A far cry from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan’s busy streets.
A misdirected piece of mail received by Gwen in error, leads to the paths of Tony and Gwen meeting. A meeting that would prove to add clarity to the questions each had been searching their lives to have answered.
